Ellie – a 48 Hour Film Project

Winner of Best Musical Score in the Detroit 48 Hour Film Project 2012.

“Ellie” tells the story of Marvin, left alone in the wasteland with Ellie, a computer AI he built. But when another straggler of the wastes happens upon Marvin and Ellie, a choice must be made.

“Ellie” Won Best Musical Score!

The 48 Hour Film Project had their Detroit awards night tonight. While I was unable to attend due to being in Rhode Island until tomorrow, I was informed our entry won best musical score. Big props to Andrea Moon for her compositions. I like to think I had a part to play with my musical suggestions, and the way I implemented her work into the piece. But she is the one to really deserve this award.

Maybe we can do even better next year!

48 Hours of My Weekend.

48 Hours of My Weekend.

This past weekend I was part of a team in the Detroit 48 Hour Film Project. I helped write and edit (and I guess shoot as I shot one single shot) a short film that turned out really well.

We got the genre of Sci-Fi, and the elements we had to use (as well as every other team had to use) were:

Character: Marvin or Mary Greenberg, Computer Genius

Prop: Nailclippers

Line of dialogue: “Mama told me not to come.” I will now try to recall the events of those 48 hours.
